The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Graduate Hydrogeologist to join our specialist team of groundwater practitioners located in Dublin, Ireland. The team is responsible for hydrogeological input to a portfolio of exciting, varied and multi-disciplinary projects and for groundwater-specific projects covering groundwater resources, groundwater engineering and environmental impact assessment both in Ireland and internationally.
Responsibilities Groundwater resources and supply investigations including borehole performance assessment, borehole feasibility studies and design and supervision of borehole supplies.
Groundwater components of Environmental Statements/Environmental Impact Assessments - this will involve preparation and coordination of groundwater resources and groundwater flooding EIA documents and technical assessment, as well as providing responses to petition queries, hydrogeological analyses and specialist opinion to support previously published environmental assessments.
Hydrogeological ground investigations, including conducting and analysing hydrogeological pumping tests and environmental monitoring.
Groundwater modelling including groundwater flow and contaminant modelling for engineering, resources and risk assessment purposes.
Hydrogeological impact assessment and mitigation for new developments and engineering proposals.
Working closely with designers of other disciplines to produce coordinated designs taking account of hydrogeological considerations.
Attending project meetings and communicating with all grades of staff, external design team members and clients.
Qualifications We’re looking for graduates who are currently pursuing a degree in Geology or Earth Science with MSc in Hydrogeology or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a higher degree in Hydrogeology, although consideration may be given to holders of a degree or higher degree in other subjects providing you have relevant experience in hydrogeology.
