PURPOSE OF THE JOB Under the general guidelines of the Hotel Management, The Maintenance Manager will ensure the day-to-day operations are carried out in line with department and Hotel standards of the Castletroy Park Hotel. To ensure the smooth operation and administration of the engineering section of the Maintenance Department, meeting monthly maintenance objectives, dealing with daily maintenance requests and assisting service contractors when required. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for monitoring ABB system. Responsible for sourcing quotes for parts, equipment and services with written reply on a time schedule. To meet and assist Service Contractors if required. Call-out Service. Administration and Financial recording for the Maintenance Department. To maintaining/replace defective materials and equipment reported to maintenance. Maintenance of Hotel and grounds to require standards and procedures. To train Maintenance Assistant in all areas to ensure cover of the department in your absence To ensure that standards are maintained in accordance with the departmental SOP. To ensure that equipment is not abused and is used for its specific purpose only. To be responsible for your own safety and of those around you. To report on duty on time. To ensure that the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct is maintained at all times. To attend all statutory training. To attend other training sessions as per the departmental training plan or as when required by management. Maintain a safe hygienic and healthy working environment. To ensure all accident, incidents and suspicious occurrences are reported to the relevant people and to assist in providing all relevant backup. To be familiar with and adhere to all rules and regulations of the hotel with specific regard to: Hygiene Fire Procedures Health and safety at work Security regulations To maintain good liaisons and communications within the department. To regularly attend monthly departmental meetings. To handle lost property according to the agreed standard. To offer any suggestions or ideas for improvement to head of department. To carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by management. As a member of staff of the Hotel you must be willing to carry out duties outside of your department if required to do so. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES To carry out any duties assigned by the General Manager and Hotel Manager. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Have a least two years previous experience with a good working knowledge of plumbing and electrical skills. Qualified trade would be an advantage. Fluent English is essential.
