What you will do:
Would you like to join an energetic, passionate and business-savvy Communications team in a company that supports key industries in society? We are seeking an experienced Internal Communications Manager to enhance our communication strategies and drive engagement within Johnson Controls. This role will require a strategic thinker with a proven track record of tactical execution in matrix organizations, capable of leading communication initiatives and supporting our leadership teams in crafting compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. You will manage one direct report, a communications specialist based in Manchester.

You will be joining a fun, driven, highly-connected EMEA Communications team with a dedicated focus on understanding business growth strategy and implementing strategies to support that exciting journey.

How you will do it:

- Develop, implement, and evaluate internal communication strategies that support organizational goals, with a focus on balancing both reactive and proactive communications.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to create effective messaging for announcements, policy changes, and other key initiatives, including town halls and leadership forums.
- Engage in campaign planning, helping leaders to shape and deliver their messages effectively across multiple channels, including MS Teams, Viva Engage, and email.
- Provide coaching and strategic planning support to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and enhancing the overall communication process.
- Be an energiser and influencer on the EMEA Communications team
- Manage the communications specialist in Manchester to ensure consistent and impactful internal communications across the organization.
- Develop and maintain communication channels tailored for senior leaders to improve visibility and effectiveness of messaging.
- Monitor communication effectiveness and implement adjustments based on feedback and metrics to continuously improve engagement and reach.

What we look for:

- Proven experience in internal communications, particularly within matrix organizations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging content for varied audiences.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans that drive employee engagement and alignment with business objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, offering strategic counsel and communication support for enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Strong project management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with communication tools and platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Viva Engage, is preferred.

This position is a key role within the internal communications team at Johnson Controls, aimed at fostering a cohesive and informed workforce.
