Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Elmhurst Day Hospital, Mental Health Services Reporting Relationship Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM2/ CNM3) as relevant to the post. Ultimately the post holder is professionally & operationally accountable to the Director of Nursing. Key Working Relationships The CNM1 will engage with the residents and be assigned as a keyworker for the service user, positive relationships are fostered with families. Become part of the internal multidisciplinary team and work along -side external service providers/multidisciplinary teams Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Contract: Permanent, Full Time Role Summary To be responsible for the management, care, and treatment of service users, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility. The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM 1) will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate. In absence of CNM2/PIC to ensure a high level of governance CNM1 is required to step into the CNM2/PIC role and Roster. Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience /Skills Competencies Knowledge Candidates must : Current registration in the Psychiatric division of the Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI) Have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in Mental Health, Care of the Older Person, Mental Health and or Psychiatry of Later Life setting. Have adequate knowledge of psychiatric nursing administrative procedures Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role Have completed, or be willing to complete a recognised management development and/ or post graduate professional development course Annual registration On appointment, Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann).
