Global Category Manager

We are seeking an experienced IT Category Manager to join our high-performing Global team on a 12-month maternity contract. In this strategic role, you will lead complex IT sourcing initiatives, shape enterprise-wide category strategies, and partner closely with technology and business leaders to deliver measurable value across Aptiv’s global footprint.

Your Role

Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for IT procurement, including hardware, software, services, and telecommunications

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for complex IT categories with significant organizational impact

Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal requirements to identify optimization opportunities

Negotiate and manage enterprise agreements with key technology vendors and service providers

Partner with IT stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly

Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and value creation across the IT category

Manage supplier relationships to ensure contractual compliance and value realisation

Implement innovative procurement approaches that leverage emerging technologies and methodologies

Provide category expertise and guidance to procurement teams and business stakeholders

Lead cross-functional teams in complex sourcing projects and digital transformation initiatives

Your Background

8+ years of procurement experience with at least 5 years specializing in IT category management, experience in Professional Services category would be desirable.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred

Professional certification preferred (CPSM, CSCP, CIPP, or similar)

Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software licensing models, cloud services, and emerging technologies

Experience managing enterprise-wide technology agreements and complex vendor relationships

Understanding of IT & Professional Services engagement models, rate structures, and delivery methodologies

Track record of successfully managing consulting firms, system integrators, and other IT & professional service providers

Experience with statement of work (SOW) development, negotiation, and management

Knowledge of resource augmentation models and contingent workforce management

Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and value improvements

Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with procurement systems and data analysis tools

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities

Understanding of IT infrastructure, software licensing models, cloud services, and emerging technologies
