Overview Kylemore Cars is Ireland’s leading independent used car retailer, with +1000 cars in stock. We are currently recruiting an Accountant to join our Accounts Team reporting to the Financial Controller.
This role will be key in supporting the Financial Controller in monthly and yearly accounts preparation with an emphasis on enabling the Business Strategy. This exciting role is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career in a role within a growing organisation.
Key duties and responsibilities Month End and Financial Reporting: Monthly/Quarterly and Year to date Management account preparation; Calculation of accruals, prepayments and other month end journals; Assisting Financial Controller with preparation of month end reporting pack and variance analysis; Review of monthly sales margin; Maintenance of Fixed Asset register, Bank and other monthly balance sheet reconciliation; Maintain and improve all accounting systems and procedures to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiencies; Support Financial Controller in year end and audit reporting cycle.
Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable: Oversee and support the Administrative Team in managing customer/supplier accounts (collections and payments inclusive); Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts; Implement and maintain efficient AP/AR workflows and procedures; Support and initial review of payment batched (AP)/customer statements, ensuring adherence to payment terms and vendor/customer agreements; Post month end accruals for Accounts Payable; Support Revenue and VAT queries; Liaise and report to Financial Controller.
Reporting and Analysis: Preparation of costing reports; Assisting Financial Controller in preparation of Budget/ Forecast and monthly review and analysis; Additional reporting requirements as needed by the business.
Payroll: Review of weekly payroll; Preparation of monthly payroll.
Skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with colleagues, suppliers and
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a process driven environment.
The capacity to work to deadlines with ability to self-prioritise tasks.
Must speak fluent English.
Education and experience Part qualified or professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 1+ years’ experience
Strong knowledge of financial reporting regulation and compliance
Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
