Job Title: Social Care Worker

The Role: As a Social Care Worker, you will provide care and support through a person-centred approach that meets the practical, physical, and emotional needs of residents with an Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as key worker for named residents where appropriate.
  • Provide support to residents with their daily plan.
  • Provide support to residents with their individual goals and education.
  • Support residents with their living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and family visits.
  • Participate in the on-floor duty team and may be responsible for coordinating shifts and supervising other staff under your direction.

Requirements:
  • Hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision.
  • Experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
  • Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
  • Knowledge of clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA).
