We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee Actuary to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic team while working towards professional qualification.

Team Background

This role sits within Canada Life Group (CLG), the group holding company for Canada Life’s European-regulated businesses. The role will report to the CLG Actuarial Manager and will support the production of actuarial analysis to meet internal and external reporting requirements for CLG, Irish Life Group (ILG) and Canada Life International Holding Company (CLIHC). The role-holder will help with the efficient management of capital across group holding entities as well as capital generation analysis. They will provide a unique overview across Canada Life’s European businesses, spread across Ireland, the UK and Germany, and give exposure to senior stakeholders.

What you will need to be successful in the role

The ideal candidate will have/be:

- Trainee actuary (approximately half way through Actuarial exams)
- Strong technical expertise – familiarity with Solvency II capital requirements is beneficial and ability to master other complex technical areas quickly
- Good influencing skills – will need to build and leverage relationships across the organisation
- Presentation skills – needs to be able to produce clear and concise analysis and present it effectively to senior stakeholders (e.g. actuarial manager)
- Planning – manage time efficiently and escalate any issues effectively when required
