Role: Communications Officer
Location: Hybrid, based in our Dublin office
Reporting to: Communications Manager
Terms: Specified Purpose Contract/Full Time 6 Months
Salary Range: €35,487 - €45,924
(Please note that offers are typically made at the beginning to midrange of the advertised salary, based on skills and experience)
Job Purpose The Communications Officer at Respond plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation's communication and public affairs work. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this position assists with digital content creation, event coordination, and the overall execution of Respond's communication strategies. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow their career in communications within a dynamic and mission driven organisation.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Content Creation and Management
Assist in the creation and editing of engaging content to highlight Respond's work and initiatives.
Work closely with the Senior Communications Officer, Communications Manager and other team members to produce high quality content that aligns with the organisation's goals and messaging.
Contribute to the development and management of Respond's social media presence, ensuring consistency with the brand tone of voice.
Use of Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, Canva, CapCut and/or any video content creation apps.
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop is a benefit, similar to Canva graphic content creation.
Good knowledge of storytelling, finding stories and developing same.
Event Management
Support the planning and execution of events including coordinating logistics and participant engagement.
Assist in preparing materials and content for events.
Publications and Digital Communications
Contribute to maintaining a strong brand for Respond including impactful and fit for purpose publications, newsletters, website, social media, collateral and merchandise.
Help manage and update Respond's website and social media platforms, maintaining a consistent and professional online presence.
Support the distribution of internal and external communications, ensuring to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
Media and Reputation Management
Monitor media coverage relevant to Respond's activities and assist in the preparation of press statements and responses.
Support the development of relationships with media, key decision makers and member organisations to enhance Respond's visibility and reputation.
Internal Communication Support
Assist in maintaining effective channels of communication within the organisation, ensuring staff are informed and engaged.
Support the implementation of communication strategies that promote a positive and cohesive organisational culture.
General
Maintain confidentiality on all matters and information obtained during the course of employment.
Present and act in a professional manner at all times, adhering to the organisation's standards and policies.
Be a supportive team player, ready to assist colleagues when needed.
Engage in continuous learning and personal development.
Undertake any other duties consistent with the role, as required.
Essential Criteria/Education Qualification Requires undergraduate degree level.
Technical Skills/Personal Attributes Third level qualification in a relevant discipline (journalism, communications, marketing or equivalent field).
Good working knowledge of website content management systems to publish content.
Good working knowledge of email service providers to design, create and send emails to internal and external audiences.
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite or similar to create graphics and other visual assets to agreed visual identity guidelines.
Knowledge and experience in mobile content creation.
Basic event planning and coordination experience.
Desired Skills/Attributes Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints.
Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Full, clean driving license.
An understanding or interest in the social housing sector and community services (desirable).
Experience Position requires 3/5 years of experience.
