Job Overview

The Facade Engineer will play a key role in designing, analysing, and managing the implementation of façade systems for a variety of projects, from commercial buildings to complex infrastructure developments. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to ensure that façade solutions meet technical and aesthetic standards while also ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop façade systems in collaboration with the wider project team.
2. Provide technical input to ensure compliance with safety standards, building regulations, and client requirements.
3. Perform structural analysis of façade components and materials.
4. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers to source and implement façade solutions.
5. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the quality of façade installations.
6. Manage façade design documentation and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
7. Ensure façade systems contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability targets.
8. Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to ensure façade designs meet aesthetic expectations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in façade design or engineering.
3. Strong understanding of materials science, building physics, and structural engineering principles as they apply to façade systems.
4. Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
5. Familiarity with building regulations and standards, particularly in relation to façade systems.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
7. Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.

Desirable Skills

1. Experience working on international projects.
2. Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient building practices.
3. Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
