Overview The Data Product Owner (DPO) is a strategic management role in charge of maximise the business value of data products delivered by agile teams within the Data & Analytics function. The DPO collaborates with Product Management, Business Stakeholders, and Technical Teams. They organize the team/'s tasks, explain the product/'s features, ensure the work aligns with goals, and guide the development of quality data solutions that align with strategic priorities. This role requires robust commercial acumen, technical knowledge of modern data platforms, and impressive communication and stakeholder management skills. The DPO plays a key role in transforming our customer into a data-driven organisation by enabling the development, adoption, and optimisation of high-impact data products across the business.
This role will operate on a hybrid model, with candidates able and willing to work from our customer/'s Dublin office at least once per week.
Responsibilities Own the vision and roadmap for assigned data products, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy
Collaborate with Product Management to refine the roadmap, clarify scope, and define MVPs
Champion a product mindset and outcomes-focused delivery across the data product lifecycle
Own and prioritise the team backlog, reflecting business priorities and compliance tasks
Define user stories and acceptance criteria; ensure clarity for engineering teams
Maintain Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) for all stories
Validate delivered work against acceptance criteria and business value expectations
Act as the voice of the customer to the agile team and vice versa
Build solid relationships with business owners, architects, engineers, QA, and governance teams
Lead UAT planning and coordination with business testers
Participate in PI Planning, iteration planning, demos, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
Own and articulate team-level PI objectives and support cross-team alignment
Ensure data products meet quality, security, and compliance standards
Coordinate with governance functions on lineage, cataloguing, and incident resolution
Monitor and optimise the usage and business impact of delivered products
Use analytics and feedback to inform prioritisation and enhancements
Drive team learning and best practices
Background in data science, data engineering, or business analysis
Comprehension of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data cataloguing tools (Atlan, Monte Carlo)
Experience in aviation, travel, or other complex enterprise domains
Act as the voice of the customer to the agile team and vice versa
Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Product Owner, Data Product Manager, or similar role
Robust awareness of data platform technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS)
Experience delivering data products in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment
Exemplary communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Ability to make value-driven prioritisation decisions in complex, ambiguous environments
Proven track record of delivering successful, high-impact data solutions
