Overview This post is Fixed Term – 18 months.
NHSGGC is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership on the development of a consultant pharmacist in antimicrobial management. This interim post will work with senior colleagues to develop an accredited job description and job plan. The role is key in delivery of the antimicrobial stewardship agenda within NHSGGC, involving close working relationships with the lead clinician and infection control, in addition to leading a team of dedicated AMT pharmacists across different sites.
Lead the running of the Antimicrobial Utilisation Subcommittee; identify and support the development of guidelines and savings opportunities; support development of services that meet population needs (e.g., OPAT virtual beds).
Deliver a clinical role as part of the job plan.
Be part of the Pharmacy Governance Senior Management Team and work closely with pharmacy clinical lead pharmacists and wider teams.
