Principal Psychologist Manager Post Adult Services Full Time, Permanent Post St. Michaels House is a community-based voluntary organisation which provides facilities and services to over 1,900 adults and children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the greater Dublin area. The Principal Psychologist Manager is responsible for the overall governance, leadership, and management of the psychology service within Adult Clinical Services. The post-holder will ensure high-quality, evidence-based, person-centered psychological support for adults with disabilities, while leading on clinical governance, staff management, supervision, training, service development, and research. This role includes carrying a defined caseload, overseeing complex interventions, and ensuring equitable access to psychology services across the organization. Applicants must have: Qualifications Essential Postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology that qualifies the applicant for employment as a Psychologist in Adult Disability services as determined by the Department of Health and the HSE. Eligible for Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g.) PSI, HCPC, or equivalent). At least 3 years post-qualification experience as a Senior Psychologist in Adult Disability services. Significant post-qualification experience working with Adults who have Intellectual Disabilities and other needs including Autism Dementia and Mental Health challenges. Proven leadership and management experience in a clinical setting. Experience Essential Experience in service development, governance, and budget management. Competencies & Skills Strong leadership and strategic planning skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex caseloads and provide specialist supervision (e.g., PBS, ASD, Dementia, Mental Health). Financial acumen and ability to manage resources effectively. Strong commitment to professional ethics, CPD, and reflective practice.
