Description:
We are hiring for our client, a well-established leader in the switchgear industry, who is seeking a skilled Tender Engineer to join their team. This Tender Engineer role is an excellent opportunity for a technically qualified Engineer looking to move away from a purely technical role into a more client-facing position. Working closely with the Sales Director, you'll use your engineering expertise to review client requirements, prepare accurate and competitive quotation documentation, and play a key part in securing business within mission-critical low-voltage switchgear projects.

The Role:
- Take ownership of assigned switchgear tender processes, from enquiry through to tender submission
- Review customer specifications, documents, and drawings to ensure compliance with tender requirements
- Prepare detailed and precise switchgear project quotations and tender documents
- Work closely with the Sales Director to align proposals with customer needs
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams for material and labour requirements
- Update internal pricing and design templates to reflect industry developments and best practices
- Maintain regular communication with customers to clarify requirements and provide timely updates
- Follow up proactively on quoted projects
- Ensure accurate completion of internal documentation and adherence to procedures
- Keep up to date with industry standards (IEC, BS, EN), trends, and health & safety requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, tidy workspace
The Person:
- Engineering qualification (Degree or Electrical Trade)
- Technical understanding of switchgear is highly desirable
- Experience working on tenders exceeding €5 million in sectors like pharmaceutical, industrial, or data centres is an advantage
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and colleagues
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet bid deadlines under pressure
- Fluent English with exceptional written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP Business One experience is beneficial
- Eligible to work in Ireland (valid work permit if required); full driving licence is an advantage
