Hydraulic Structural Engineer

Overview ATG are working with a leading engineering consultancy in Ireland, providing innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions across the water, environment, and civil sectors. They are seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join an expanding water and flood risk management team in Dublin.
Responsibilities Design and assessment of hydraulic structures (bridges, culverts, outfalls, sluices, headwalls, spillways, etc.)
Lead and contribute to the production of drawings, specifications, reports, and tender documents
Undertake structural assessments in accordance with Eurocodes and other relevant standards
Support hydrological and hydraulic modelling tasks to inform structural design
Carry out site inspections and condition surveys
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and contractors
Provide technical input to multi-disciplinary project teams
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Requirements Bachelor/'s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 4+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of hydraulic structures
Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g., with Engineers Ireland or ICE)
Strong knowledge of relevant design codes (Eurocodes, CIRIA, NRA/Transport Infrastructure Ireland standards, OPW guidelines)
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Robot, MIDAS, STAAD, etc.)
Excellent report writing, communication, and team-working skills
Right to work in Ireland
Experience with flood risk management and drainage projects
Familiarity with hydraulic modelling tools (HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM)
Experience working with public sector clients such as OPW, Irish Water, or local authorities
Project management or client-facing experience
