We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-growing aircraft design team, reporting to our Head of Mechanical Engineering at our Dublin based offices.

· Lead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems for Manna’s next-generation delivery drones and ground systems.

· Work closely with top engineers to bring complex projects from concept to production, setting new benchmarks for innovation and creativity.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the design and development of Manna’s ultra-light, all-weather drones. You’ll work across key systems such as the airframe, propulsion, avionics, ground systems, and battery, ensuring they meet high aviation standards for safety, performance, and environmental responsibility. This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record of delivering complex projects in a fast-moving, agile environment. You’ll be self-driven and adapt quickly to changes, taking ownership of key systems and thriving in a dynamic, collaborative atmosphere.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead the mechanical design and development of Manna’s next-generation drone prototypes, working closely with lead engineers across a wide range of engineering disciplines.

· Deliver product design solutions that integrate and balance complex requirements, including aerodynamics, structural integrity, reliability, acoustics, thermal management, and robust electrical systems.

· Own the design and validation process, creating clear documentation and procedures to support regulatory certification and safety standards.

· Lead and mentor a small team of mechanical engineers, driving the development of cutting-edge systems, test plans, validation reports, and technical documentation.

· Own the full product lifecycle, from concept development to testing, validation, and final production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

EXPERIENCE WE’LL BE LOOKING FOR:

- Experience: 10+ years as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a proven ability to deliver complex projects from concept to production in fields such as aircraft, drones, robotics, or automotive design.
- Leadership & Ownership: You are a self-starter who takes full ownership of your projects and thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive experience using 3D CAD software (e.g., Catia V5, 3DExperience) to generate parts, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Simulation Expertise: Experience with CAE tools like Ansys to simulate mechanical performance and interpret advanced FEA models produced by our mechanical simulation team.
- Hands-On & Practical: You enjoy working through challenges on the ground level and take pride in making sure that every detail of the design is right.
- Collaborative Spirit: Strong communicator, eager to work with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and designers to develop world-class products.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Deep understanding of certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA) and regulatory approval, including design verification and type certification for aviation-grade products or similar.
- Quality-Driven: You have an intense focus on delivering designs that meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.
