Food Business Consultant - Maternity Cover We are seeking a full-time, fixed-term Maternity cover Food Business Consultant to join our award winning ifac Food and Agribusiness team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career in one of Ireland's fastest-growing professional services Firms. Our Food Business Consultant will be based in Dublin three days per month and Kilkenny one day per month with a blend of WFH and access to our regional office network for the remainder of the week. The Role: We are seeking a commercially minded Food Business Consultant to join the ifac Food & Agribusiness team. This position is ideal for candidates who want to leverage retail and food sector expertise to guide food producers on product development, pricing strategies and market positioning. The Candidate: The successful candidate will have: A minimum of five years' experience in the food industry and retail sector, ideally in roles such as buying, category management or commercial strategy. A Master's Degree in a food business or agribusiness related discipline. Proven track record of driving business growth through strategic advice and support. Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive business growth. Expertise in pricing, negotiation, and route-to-market strategies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to analyse market trends and data to inform decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities: Leverage retail and food sector expertise to guide food producers on product development, pricing strategies and market positioning. Provide strategic advice to clients on securing retail listings and optimising product profitability. Conduct detailed reviews of products, margins and revenue streams to identify growth opportunities. Deliver workshops on New Product Development (NPD), focusing on benchmarking, brand positioning and presenting to buyers. Use market data and insights to develop promotional and pricing strategies tailored to client needs. Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on commercial and operational strategies.
