Sales Leader - BevAl - Alcoholic Beverage
- Full-time
NIQ is committed to developing our on and off-trade Alcoholic Beverage (BevAl) service and solutions to drive value for our customers to enable their success. 2025 will be an exciting year for NIQ’s BevAl solutions, being the first year that on and off trade data will be delivered in an integrated, intuitive platform that supports users across the industry. The BevAl sales lead will be vital to the success of this initiative, spearheading our approach by developing and executing a robust commercial strategy and Go-to-Market plan.
Over time, this role is expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the features, benefits, and value proposition of NIQ’s BevAl service. This includes identifying and addressing client unmet needs and pain points that can be effectively addressed, along with acting as trusted advisor for the wider commercial team, offering expertise, product knowledge, and support.
Reporting to the Ireland Country Manager, this role will collaborate extensively with the Ireland sales team and the regional BevAl team, along with cross-functional teams such as Product and Operations.
Candidates will have accomplished skills in account management and sales. They will also have strong interpersonal skills and use these to delve deep into the client business, truly understanding the challenges and questions.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Build meaningful client relationships with client stakeholders and teams.
- Empathize with and anticipate our customers’ needs and be ready with solutions. Be an influential, forward-thinking, and unbiased source of truth for the industry.
- Develop and execute client account plans to achieve mutually beneficial results.
Commercial Strategy & Go to Market:
- Lead the development, refinement, and execution of the commercial strategy for the BevAl service in Ireland, including developing and implementing sales plans, focusing on client acquisition.
- In collaboration with the regional team and Ireland Head of Sales, encourage and empower the local sales team to drive BevAl client growth. Act as advisor, offering expertise, product knowledge, and support throughout the sales process.
Product and Service Development:
- Define and refine the positioning of the BevAl service in the market, ensuring clear articulation of its overall benefits both externally with customers and internally with the local sales team.
- Capture and articulate a clear understanding of BevAl customer needs – representing the voice of the customer in Ireland, working to ensure alignment between client needs and product development.
- Build NIQ credibility by developing relevant local trade, industry, and press connections – championing our solutions and ensuring they are informed about the latest developments.
Qualifications:
Candidate will be suited for this role if they have:
- Commercial Leadership: Extensive experience in developing and executing commercial strategy based on strategic thinking.
- Relevant experience of working within the alcoholic beverage industry.
- Sales Expertise: Proven track record on achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. They should be skilled in prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals effectively.
- Client Management: Extensive experience expanding client portfolio or client acquisition.
- Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and translate it to actionable insights.
- Leadership and Influence: Ability to lead, inspire, and influence a diverse stakeholder internally and externally, collaborating effectively across functions and diverse teams.
- Experience working in matrixed organizations includes familiarity with navigating complex organizational structures.
A person in this role should:
- Deliver ambitious results which involves setting high benchmarks and consistently achieving or surpassing them and displaying a relentless drive towards achieving results.
- Establish credibility with peers and senior leadership both with clients and internally. Externally, build a reputation as a trusted partner who brings value to the client's business. Internally, able to rally and inspire people to share and work toward achieving BevAl ambition in Ireland.
- Demonstrate a mindset focused on continual improvement along the way, taking risks, and learning from mistakes rather than waiting for perfection. Maintain positivity and confidence in overcoming challenges, and facing rejections, remaining steadfast when others may feel pessimistic or defeated.
- Challenge the status quo, foster open-mindedness, and encourage creative thinking to nurture a continuous improvement culture. Stay alert to changing situations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in approach.
- Have a genuine curiosity about consumer data and demonstrate the capability to translate data into actionable insights for customers.
