How will this role have an impact?

As Engineering Manager of the Atlas team at Signify Health Ireland, you will leverage your experience to manage a team involved in the design, development and optimization of Signify Health's critical path mobile and web platform. You will be an advocate for the use of modern software engineering best practices, getting work done in the right way and collaborating deeply with other teams and architects.

Responsibilities

- Coach and continuously develop the capabilities of a technical team of engineers across all levels through fostering curiosity and exploration, knowledge-sharing, and leveraging the skills of others. Conduct ongoing career development activities with your team and manage individual & team performance through a combination of regular 1:1 conversations and formal check-ins.
- Be a strong partner to your product and user experience counterparts as well as other parts of the business.
- Be an exceptionally strong collaborative force, explaining your work, asking good questions, listening to your peers and customers, and giving and receiving feedback.
- Be a model for clear and effective communication; provide feedback to your team, review technical design or code artifacts, and explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical colleagues across the business.
- Help drive long-term architecture and detailed design for a highly scalable platform solution, with usability, simplicity and maintainability as core tenets.
- Help continue to develop and improve our engineering processes by ensuring that the assets which your team develops are well-defined, modularized, secure, reliable, reusable and observable.
- As a leader at Signify Health Ireland, work in partnership with the site lead and technology leadership to establish and model a culture of learning, growth & innovation across the site as well as support your team’s participation in community engagement activities.

Qualifications

- 10+ years’ experience in Software Development.
- 4+ years of experience hiring, managing and developing teams which deliver high impact products to the market.
- Strong software engineering experience fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, async programming patterns, object-oriented design).
- Hands-on experience with a number of general purpose programming languages such as but not limited to: .NET, Java, Python, PHP, RUST, Scala, C/C++, C#, and frontend frameworks such as Angular & React.
- Extensive prior work with cloud-based systems.
- Strong ability to review and evaluate code.
- Significant experience of testing (Unit, UI), CI/CD, Github actions, Azure DevOps.
- Experience with building observability into products and managing ‘build it, own it’ teams/products in production.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering or related field.
