Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (CAMHS) Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath Contract type: One year contract Hours of work: 28 hours per week. Salary: Senior Grade Occupational Therapist scale, at a point in line with Government pay policy. We have an exciting opportunity to join our well established CAMHS service in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. If you are a forward thinking, compassionate Occupational Therapist, looking to join a supportive and friendly CAMHS team this may be the opportunity for you We are looking to recruit a CORU registered, innovative and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a CAMHS Multidisciplinary team in Mullingar. This is a 1 year specified purpose contract, 28 hours per week. The Senior Occupational Therapist will work as part of a CAMHS Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Purpose of the Role: You will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within client's homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate. You will be managing the Occupational Therapy Service across the CAMHS services, using evidence based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living The OT will carry a complex caseload and will complete occupational therapy specific assessment & interventions. As part of the MDT, the OT will complete some generic mental health work, such as initial intake assessments, and will hold a key working role. The OT will be responsible for supervision of a staff grade Occupational Therapist and development of the Occupational Therapy Service within their designated team. Duties and Responsibilities: Be responsible for the maintenance of standards of practice of self and staff appointed to clinical / designated area(s) Be responsible for managing own caseload and for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment programmes for service users according to service standards Participate in the integrated discharge planning process in line with the HSE Code of Practice Be responsible for the day-to-day running of a designated service area(s) by supervising staff, prioritising and allocating work and promoting positive staff morale and team working in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager In conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager lead service planning by anticipating the changing needs of the service and service users Foster and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, front line managers, and other healthcare personnel in the team Ensure the quality of documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries are in accordance with local service and professional standards Communicate verbally and / or in writing results of assessments, treatment / intervention programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy Participate in teams as appropriate, communicating and working in co-operation with other team members Attend clinics, review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc. as designated by the Occupational Therapist Manager Ensure that staff in the designated service area(s) arrange and carry out duties in a timely manner, within settings appropriate to service users needs, and in line with local policy/guidelines To be successful in this role, you will BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent Hold full CORU registration Have three years full time post qualification clinical experience. Demonstrate the ability to lead on planning and managing the delivery of an optimum service in an effective and resourceful manner Substantial experience of working within Mental Health, preferably with CAMHS Demonstrates ability to lead by example and adapts leadership style to suit the demands of the situation and the people involved. Demonstrate an ability to manage and develop self and others in a busy working environment. Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, collaborates well with others.
