Staff CPU Architect

As a CPU Architecture Staff Engineer, you will lead the architectural and micro-architectural specification for a range of cutting-edge out-of-order (OOO) superscalar CPU cores used in next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, with a focus on performance and power/area efficiency.

This leadership role requires expertise in OOO superscalar CPU workings, coherency in multi-core systems, and workload performance analysis.

Successful candidates will collaborate with architecture teams, design teams, and other partners.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Author detailed specifications for CPU cores for design teams and stakeholders, conducting reviews as needed.
2. Collaborate with other architects to optimize CPU system performance, including teams working on accelerator engines, SoC definition, and software teams.
3. Use simulators and modeling tools to analyze power and performance of key workloads, performing tradeoff analyses on features and design choices.
4. Work closely with design teams on implementation and verification, including power analysis and process-related decisions.
5. Research future requirements and features to enable next-generation products.

Required Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience leading architectural efforts in OOO superscalar CPU designs, with a proven track record of successful delivery and micro-architecture decision-making aimed at performance, power, and area optimization.
2. Expertise in CPU micro-architectures, memory hierarchy, and multi-core coherency.
3. Strong understanding of SoC design principles, including accelerators, CPUs, and memory subsystems.
4. Experience with advanced simulators for architecture exploration, validation, and modeling complex software workloads.
5. Additional areas of interest include:

- Knowledge of RISC-V architecture, hardware, and software.
- Experience with closely coupled accelerators.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and hardware mapping.
