About the Position My client is currently looking to add a Data Architecture and Integrations Manager to their Technology team. You'll join a dynamic team committed to technology innovation, fostering strong partnerships, and maintaining a solutions-oriented approach within a collaborative and vibrant academic environment. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for designing data solutions that empower operations and advance its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will shape the institution's data architecture, manage enterprise system integrations, enable data-driven decision making and help to shape how they leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence. The Data Architecture and Integrations Manager will manage a team of data professionals to achieve these objectives and will play a central role in enabling the client to become a truly data-driven organisation. Key Responsibilities Shape and contribute to enterprise data strategy, defining the future-state data architecture that supports institutional goals. Lead the development of the cloud and data platform strategy, enabling digital transformation and AI adoption through scalable, secure, and future-ready infrastructure. Establish and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, including the design of common data models and metadata frameworks to support consistent and interoperable data use. Design and implement technical tools and services that support the oversight and management of data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with policies, and national and international regulations. Lead the architecture, governance, and day-to-day operations of middleware integration platform (Boomi) and other data integration solutions. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data integration processes across systems. Design and support custom APIs, data connectors, and integration patterns to enable current and future digital initiatives. Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to oversee the delivery of effective technical solutions to meet business requirements. Oversee capacity planning and performance monitoring of key data systems, and contribute to ensuring that systems are designed in line with data architecture best practices. Support reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives by delivering well-structured, governed, and fit-for-purpose data models and supporting infrastructure. Manage and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance. Provide leadership and direction to technical staff supporting the data and integration platforms. Participate in relevant committees and project groups to represent the team on data architecture and integration matters. Engage with sectoral and vendor communities to keep up to date on best practices in data architecture and integration and represent in this context. Experience/Requirements A primary degree (NFQ Level 7) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a closely related field is essential Candidates must have at least 5 years of leadership and management experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder organisations with diverse data landscapes in enterprise data architecture, systems integration, or similar roles A postgraduate qualification in a relevant area is highly desirable Demonstrated experience designing and managing integration platforms and middleware (Boomi or similar) In-depth experience with conceptual and logical data modelling for relational and dimensional formats across operational and analytical use cases, with strong capabilities in metadata and API management Proven experience in designing and supporting data architectures that enable analytics, reporting, and AI use cases Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Snowflake, Power BI, MS Fabric, Airflow) is highly desirable Experience with modern data architecture paradigms such as data mesh, data lakehouse, or event-driven architectures Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders Remuneration Package Generous salary range on offer in line with experience, along with additional benefits.
