A snapshot of your peer group:
- Minimum 5 years’ hands‑on experience architecting, deploying, and managing large‑scale virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in scripting and automation, with demonstrable experience automating complex administrative tasks using PowerShell
- Proven track record of leading virtualization projects from design through implementation and support, including migration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
- Broad‑based knowledge of applications in the Microsoft ecosystem: backup technologies, database technologies, application servers, web servers, etc
- Ability to document complex technical environments and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Additional Experience and Skills:
- Experience with hybrid and multi‑cloud virtualization platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Experience integrating virtualization platforms with storage solutions (NetApp, SAN/NAS) and automation frameworks
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems.
- Technical design experience, especially in infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools and practices
- Experience working on new technology projects as part of a coordinated project team
- Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies
- Valid driver’s license

- Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper‑V), ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Develop, maintain, and optimise automation scripts and workflows for provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining virtual infrastructure (primarily PowerShell, Python).
- Serve as the subject matter expert for virtualization and automation, mentoring junior staff and driving best practices
- Provide hands‑on support for server systems in central and remote offices, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
- Create and update operational and security documentation for virtualised environments.
- Ensure system uptime and reliability, proactively monitoring and addressing performance and security concerns
- Collaborate with management to ensure the firm’s system and security requirements are met and aligned with business objectives
- Install and test approved hardware and software upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
- Manage incident resolution, including escalation to internal teams and third‑party suppliers.
- Provide 2nd/3rd level technical support to the internal service desk
