We are recruiting a part-time (28 hours per week) Senior Occupational Therapist to Cover Maternity Leave at Sensational Kids, Claremorris, Co Mayo from mid-November 2025 About Sensational Kids: Sensational Kids is a reputable social enterprise committed to enriching the lives of children and families. Our provincial child development centres provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services catering to children of diverse abilities. About Sensational Kids Child Development Centre in Claremorris, Co Mayo By joining this child development centre, you will join a small friendly team in a modern, bright bespoke therapy facility which is located in Claremorris, Co Mayo. Our services include speech & language therapy, and occupational therapy with psychological assessments starting in 2026. There is ample free onsite parking. Our bespoke therapy facility includes a large sensory motor gym, therapy consultation rooms and offices, our child development shop and an onsite staff kitchen and a reception area for parents. Occupational Therapist Responsibilities: Deliver family-centred therapy, conducting occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and adolescents through personalised and group sessions, primarily within clinic settings and occasionally in the community. Provide onsite support and supervision for basic grade Occupational Therapist and long arm supervision to a small number of basic grade therapists remotely. Collaborate effectively within the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary teams to plan, deliver, and enhance professional services. Support and advise colleagues within the clinical team to ensure optimal service delivery. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other service-related gatherings. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation utilising computerised clinical records systems. Assist in organising parent/teacher training sessions and provide guidance. Ensure the upkeep and safety of therapy rooms and equipment. Engage in continuous professional development activities and contribute to CPD opportunities. Contribute to service development and occasional training workshops for parents and educators. Support promotional activities for service enhancement and media communications. Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role of a Paediatric Occupational Therapist. Report directly to the Clinical Services Manager. Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy, validated for practice in Ireland. Ideally, a minimum of 4+ years of post-qualification experience in paediatric occupational therapy, including working with children with additional needs such as neurodiverse conditions, autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders, and Down syndrome. Ayres Sensory Integrationtraining desirable ADOS/ADIR training desirable but not essential Accredited membership with the AOTI and CORU Registration are essential. Garda Vetting clearance and satisfactory references are required. Access to own car for travel purposes, including school visits. Demonstrated passion for paediatric occupational therapy with a commitment to ongoing learning and development. Hours: Part-time position with flexible working hours (28 hours) We will also consider applicants who wish to work less or more hours.
