Position Description

The successful candidate will report to the Data Analytics & Strategy Manager, Networks Assets and will work within the Networks business as a data and business intelligence specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping ESB Networks become a more data-driven organization and for driving a change in culture within networks by demonstrating the value data analytics can bring to the organization. The Analytics team provides a service to all parts of the Networks business including large transformational programmes like Powering Ahead and DMSO.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with business stakeholders to resolve data issues by creating reports and dashboards to support key decision-making.
2. Assist in the creation of BI and Analytics requirements for Data Engineering work for the centralized Data Analytics HUB where relevant.
3. Perform basic data modeling in delivery of solutions, diagnose/fix issues as they arise.
4. Proactively seek ways to use data analytics solutions to help the business move to a data-driven approach to decision-making.
5. Help drive adoption of the Networks Data Strategy consistently across the Networks organization.
6. Participate in Data Governance exercises as appropriate and help drive adoption of data governance policies and procedures.
7. Adhere to all ESB data policies, especially data-related ones like GDPR.

Experience & Qualifications

1. 3rd level qualification in a Data or IT related discipline plus at least 3 years industry experience.
2. Any data-specific qualifications or business experience are a distinct advantage.
3. Previous experience working with data to solve business problems.
4. Excellent communication skills with an ability to present findings to senior audiences and work in a team environment.
5. Proven ability to lead in delivering data-related solutions to key business stakeholders.
6. Prior experience with Power BI or similar for creating reports/dashboards/KPI metrics.
7. Prior experience writing SQL, ideally with MS SQL Server.
8. Ability to write Python and R.
9. Domain knowledge of a Networks Utility Business.
10. Innovative in approach and ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results.

Location

Three Gateway, East Wall Road; hybrid/smart work will be a feature of this role.

Reporting To

The successful candidate will report to the Data Analytics Manager, Networks IT & Data Strategy.

Starting from €48,100 per annum
