Overview

As a core member of the central Technical Department, the Technical Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation and continuous improvement of Bus Éireann’s vehicle fleet. This position reports to the Technical Manager within the Head of Engineering Department at Bus Éireann.

This position involves a broad range of responsibilities aimed at delivering technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and practical engineering solutions to support fleet performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical support for Bus Éireann’s fleet vehicles.
- Engage in engineering problem-solving to support continuous improvement of the fleet.
- Collaborate with vehicle and parts suppliers to meet maintenance and procurement needs.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance, procurement and other key business functions.

Qualifications

- Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably at NFQ Level 8.
- Applicants with a Level 7 qualification and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
