Mechanical Utilities Engineer
Responsibilities:
1. To carry out and implement equipment and process improvement initiatives.
2. To ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment.
3. Establish with the Site Engineering Services Manager the performance goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
4. Assist with the management and supporting of manufacturing / utility / facility project plans.
5. Coordinate maintenance of manufacturing & facility equipment to required maintenance schedules.
6. Preparation of capital expenditure requests for the facility, plant and equipment.
7. Develop monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities which includes ownership of Site Maintenance Excellence Program to drive operational improvements including implementing cost savings.
8. Ensure successful agency, external, divisional and corporate audits as relates to engineering compliance systems.
9. Issue management reports as requested and on time.
10. Management of relevant budgets within target.
11. Cross train within department to ensure appropriate preventive maintenance schedules are achieved.
12. Ensure safety standards are met, and safe working practices adhered to.
13. Implementation of equipment/process upgrades in an environment of continuous improvement.
14. Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.
15. Liaise with Global Engineering as required.
16. Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.
17. Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Quality, Engineering & Safety.
18. Supervise external contractors which include development of performance metrics for third party service providers of site services.
19. Negotiate cost and drive quality & performance with external contractors.
20. Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics) or Relevant Discipline.
2. Experience in Chilled Water, boilers, Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, LPHW, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Electricity, Building Safety Systems and Building regulations is desirable.
3. 5+ years experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
4. It may be necessary to re-design elements of manufacturing / utility / facility machinery to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency with a demonstrated track record in managing budgets.
5. Experience in Electricity, LPHW, Chilled Water and Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Building Safety Systems and Building regulations is desirable.
