Psychologist - Children's Disability Network Team (SC24-510)

Job Description Applications are invited for the above position. Part Time Options may be considered. A panel will be formed from which other permanent or temporary posts may be filled. Overview of the Post The Psychologist will join the well-established psychology department in CDNT 5 and work as a member of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with MDT colleagues providing services to children from 0-18 years and families who are accessing the Children's Disability Network Team . The Psychologist will provide a range of psychological services as required in partnership with families and other members of the team including assessment, diagnostics, programme implementation and behavior management. Running parent training courses is included as part of the role. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychologist to develop their skills and help shape Children's disability services while supported through senior psychologists. The psychologist will report to the CDNT manager. Professional clinical supervision will be provided. The ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload, and work in an inter-disciplinary way using a family centered practice approach are also keys requirements of the role. Continuous Professional Development opportunities will be provided. Essential Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1 st or 2 nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject. And Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology Or An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. Application for this post must be inclusive of letter of validation. And Demonstrate competence in the area of working with children with disabilities. Demonstrate an understanding of interdisciplinary working, family centred practice and a high standard of suitability for the proper discharge of the office. Desirable Experience of working with Children with complex needs and their families. Experience delivering group work and parent training programmes.
