Logistics Supervisor

At McCarrens we have an exciting new opportunity for a Logistics Supervisor to join our team in Cavan.

The Logistics Supervisor plays a pivotal role in enhancing productivity and efficiency, ensuring that the logistics operations run seamlessly. This position is key to helping the company achieve its targets while delivering top-notch products promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor daily work operations and provide direction to the Logistics Team.
2. Ensure the factory is audit-ready at all times.
3. Train new staff according to company SOPs.
4. Interact with internal and external customers by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and explaining procedures.
5. Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures (CCPs, Food Safety, and Quality SOP).
6. Lead and motivate operatives and team leaders to achieve KPIs.
7. Develop operatives by providing appropriate training, assigning challenging tasks, applying disciplinary action as needed, and conducting performance reviews.
8. Monitor and improve line/equipment capacity to meet business needs.
9. Liaise with the Technical Department to ensure product quality.
10. Implement team meetings to ensure staff understand their goals and objectives.
11. Develop work schedules with the Logistics Manager based on priorities, workload, and resources.
12. Report daily to the Logistics Manager/Operations Manager on adherence to schedule and other required reports.
13. Ensure product traceability and accurate record-keeping through both paper records and the company Emydex system.
14. Facilitate a lean culture and provide coaching towards this.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must have previous logistics experience at supervisor or chargehand level within a manufacturing environment.
2. Experience in Food Manufacturing is beneficial but not essential.
3. Skilled communicator with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
4. Ability to identify continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common software tools.
