EHS Specialist within pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing Co Laois.

Cpl are delighted to work with our client partner to support them with sourcing and hiring an accomplished EHS Officer for their Manufacturing site in Co Laois.

The role is a full-time day shift position, and the vacancy is open for a mat cover and will be 12 months in duration starting early June 2025.

Responsibilities:

1. You will help and support with the development and monitoring of the sites environmental, EHS ensuring compliance with legislative regulations.
2. Support with the evolving site EHSS integrated management system.
3. Perform risk assessments for various operations, on equipment and tasks and implement associated risk controls where appropriate.
4. Increase the safety awareness of all staff through promotion, risk assessment, training and working with departmental managers.
5. Conduct inspections and internal assessments on various programs to detect existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
6. Ability to work on own initiative, engage with associates and drive a safety value.
7. Support EHS projects to completion.
8. Support accident investigations and incident prevention opportunities.
9. Develop, establish, and conduct related training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices for administrative, manufacturing, laboratory, and outside service personnel.
10. Create and update EHS programs/procedures as well as supporting risk assessment and training materials as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A relevant 3rd level qualification ideally in Environmental Science or another relevant 3rd level EHS discipline.
2. Ideally you will have 2 years plus of career experience, preferably within manufacturing environments and the preference is Pharma, Med-Dev, Chemical.
3. You will prove capabilities in all relevant EHS regulations, site environmental and safety management systems.
4. Be self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative and possess excellent organisational and time management skills.
5. Have a compliance mindset regarding company and legal requirements.
