Job Description
Would you like to work as part of a team where one day, you’re in a woodland searching for mammal tracks and local fauna, and the next, you’re conducting a dusk bat survey, monitoring roosts and their behaviours? That’s just one of the advantages of joining our Ecology team. As a Graduate Ecologist, you will join one of the largest full-time ecology practices nationwide, where our specialist team provides a wide range of services.
You will have the opportunity to conduct ecological surveys for a wide range of protected habitats and species, including birds, bats, freshwater and terrestrial invertebrates, fisheries, and protected habitats. You’ll learn how the results of these surveys inform the ecological and environmental assessments that impact the projects other MKO teams work on.
Being an Ecologist allows you to be a part of the conservation and protection of biodiversity in Ireland and make a difference. If you love wildlife, nature and being outdoors, then joining MKO as a Graduate Ecologist is the job for you
Requirements:
- The Graduate Ecologist role is open to final-year undergraduates, master’s students and those who have graduated in the last two years in Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science, or another relevant discipline, equipping you with the necessary skills to undertake the role.
- We are looking for grads with a desire to learn and a keen interest in Irish ecology and sustainable development.
- Our Grad Careers are perfect for you if you have a collaborative and flexible approach with the ambition to excel and grow within a team environment.
- Those applying to become a Graduate Ecologist would ideally have excellent report writing skills, be organised and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
- At MKO, we don’t just talk about our values; they are our fundamental guiding principles. We are looking for grads who demonstrate behaviours aligned with our values: Quality, Flexibility, Teamwork, Confidence and Integrity.
