The role is varied and fast-paced and you will play an important role in being the face of the Campus in assisting both Students and clients. This will involve completing a variety of tasks that maintain the health and appearance of our grass, trees, plants and general campus grounds. Working Pattern: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 Rewards: 30 days paid holidays (pro-rata), including bank holidays Training & Development Employee Assistance Programme to support your health & wellbeing Financial Education/Financial wellbeing advisory service Uniform Provided Company Events Onsite Parking The Role: Day-to-Day Groundskeeping Tasks Keeping the campus looking fresh and tidy Cutting the grass around campus to keep it neat Pulling out weeds in all areas to help things grow properly Picking up litter and clearing away any random debris Emptying bins spread across the grounds Occasionally helping line up the pitches for big games Taking care of flower beds and treeslike trimming branches when needed Letting the team know if any fences or pitches are damaged Keeping the delivery/loading bay clean and free of rubbish The Person: Eligible to work in EU/EEA The ideal candidate should have 2 - 3 years' experience working in a large site-based building/college or campus as a caretaker or in caretaker/security role. Have experience working with people on a daily basis, with excellent communications skills. Can operate machinery for their duties. Knowledge of health and safety and manual handling, fire control an advantage. Be flexible in their approach to working on day and evening shifts. Living close to the SETU Carlow Campus would be beneficial Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
