Senior Manager, Investment - Transitions
We are looking for an experienced Asset Transition specialist, with experience overseeing a wide range of transition projects – including new manager appointments, pooled and segregated fund trading, in specie transfers, insurance transactions, transition manager appointments and platform transitions.

Role and Responsibilities

As part of the leadership group within the Transition Team, help to develop transition procedures and ensure all colleagues follow correct processes.

Managing more junior members of the team.

Developing colleagues’ transition expertise, including taking a lead on training and knowledge sharing.

Taking ownership of buy-in and buy-out projects to deliver them within strict time constraints.

Taking a leading role in research related to transitions (specialising in an area such as custody, FX or Transition Managers).

Maintain contacts at investment managers and utilising these to deliver optimal outcomes for clients.

Responsible for oversight/checking of large/complex transition exercises: checking project plans and the associated timelines, checking any documentation required for the projects, and stepping in to progress difficult issues

Act as mentor/coach/performance manager to more junior members of the team.

Produce/check final draft instructions for execution and finalising client. correspondence required for clients to execute transition projects.

Ensure reliable audit trails and backing should issues arise.

Improve transition processes to help implement more efficient solutions for clients.

Produce/approve scopes and fee quotes for a range of possible activities.

Manage project budgets and tracking financials to meet firm efficiency target.

Perform the role of a transition expert whom colleagues in the wider firm can come to for questions.

Maintain external contacts and looking for business development opportunities.

Attend client meetings and pitches where opportunities arise.

Key Skills & Experience

Extensive experience within asset transitions is required.

Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise within asset transitions.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Extensive project management experience.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to look at input from third parties objectively.

Strong appreciation of risk management procedures.

Ability to draft clear and precise instructions.

Able to take on a high level of responsibility from the outset.

Excellent communication skills.

The ability to listen to the requirements of a project and then lead on it to completion.

The ability to work effectively in a team including delegation.

Willingness to manage internal and external clients and build strong relationships.

Highly organised and a methodical thinker to ensure projects are prioritised appropriately.

Willingness to manage multiple tasks to demanding timeframes when required.

Be responsible for delivering projects to several colleagues at varying levels across different locations within the UK.

Willingness to take ownership for the successful completion of projects.

Strong leadership skills.

Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
