AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Working for Annapurna Labs is thrilling, fast-paced, and a constant learning experience. As an ENA Drivers SW development engineer, you will be responsible for developing kernel-space and user-space network drivers, running on the customer’s virtual machines. You will develop features for Annapurna Labs next-generation hardware to enable high network bandwidth and packets-per-seconds (PPS) performance with consistently low latency. You will play a key role in shaping SW designs, keep up with new features and enhancements provided by various operating systems, and help resolve complex customer issues. You will continuously evolve technically, while working to monitor AWS cloud health, maintain high-quality standards, develop highly-optimized code, and provide exceptional customer satisfaction.

ENA drivers are available for all supported operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows, DPDK, FreeBSD, MacOS, …) and run on the host virtual machine. The Linux, DPDK, and FreeBSD ENA drivers are open-source and available in the official Amazon drivers GitHub and corresponding operating systems’ repositories. The ENA drivers are responsible for managing the interface between the Nitro controller and the virtual instance, managing resources and configurations, and implementing various networking enhanced features. A SW engineer in the ENA Drivers team will design, develop, and upstream new features for AWS Nitro servers, work with internal and external customers, and continuously invest efforts in maintaining a high-quality operational bar.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded SW development
- 3+ years of network driver development
- Expertise in at least one of the following: Linux, Windows, DPDK, or FreeBSD network drivers development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with real-time performance profiling and optimization
- Experience with various networking protocols
- Experience working with the open-source community
- Experience from companies which develop their proprietary ASIC as well as its corresponding drivers
