Junior Buyer

Responsibilities: Prepare and manage purchase requisitions and create purchase orders for materials. Request quotations from suppliers and analyse offers to ensure the best value. Monitor material delivery to ensure timely arrival and resolve any delays. Generate weekly reports highlighting any material shortages or potential delays, and take action to resolve issues as needed. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivery schedules are met and address any performance concerns. Participate in supplier meetings to review and improve delivery performance. Coordinate with planning teams to ensure production orders are scheduled efficiently and materials are available when needed. Manage the organisation of shipments, including coordinating collections and deliveries with suppliers. Enter order confirmations and shipping details into the system once acknowledgement is received. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and material movements. Request technical drawings from suppliers when necessary for manufacturing. Requirements: 2+ years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers.
