Purpose of Position: The role of the Computing Support Tutor is to assess, research, document, teach and support student learning in the part-time computing programmes on offer in the School of Computing. Reporting to: Dean of the School of Computing Key Relationships: Dean of School of Computing Vice-Dean of School of Computing Head of Cloud Competency Centre Computing Support Tutor Faculty in the School Students Associate Faculty Programme Co-ordinators Student Services Key Responsibilities: Provide support for students on NCI ICT Skills programmes in all academic matters. Coordination and provision of support in a wide range of technical and non-technical subjects for part-time students at NCI. Provision of tutorials and lectures on a group and individual basis. Provision of online tutorials, lectures and resources where suitable. Introduction of innovative measures to improve student learning. Identification and support for student learning difficulties in liaison with Student Services. Key Attributes: Masters level qualification desirable in a relevant subject area to the School of Computing Third level qualification in a relevant subject area to the School of Computing Teaching experience an advantage A proven interest in working with and supporting students Experience within a similar position an advantage Experience of working with students in a support role an advantage Experience within a third level education environment an advantage Excellent communication skills Excellent time management skills Flexibility with a 'can-do' attitude Salary: Specialist/Senior Administrator Salary Band (€37,271 - €54,915) Contract: 3 Year, Fixed-term, full-time. Annual Leave: 24 days per annum Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm The successful applicant will be subject to Garda Vetting and must not have any convictions under the Sex Offenders Act 2001.
