Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:**The Opportunity:**We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in expanding and improving our Engagement Channel solutions. These teams design and deliver innovative solutions that enable our customers to spread a culture of recognition and celebration within their workplaces.**Tech stack**: Java 8, Python, Spring, RESTful webservices, ActiveMQ/Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, API, Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL DB, PL/SQL, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Git, Docker/Containerization, JS and React based frameworks.**What we can offer you:*** An opportunity to influence the technical strategy which is led by the Principal Engineer for the whole team* An opportunity to lead design and engineering activities for your squad in alignment with strategic objectives* An opportunity to break down large features and epics into smaller items to enable others in the squad to work more efficiently* An opportunity to co-ordinate complex deployments and improve developer experience at Workhuman by bringing in new ideas unconstrained by existing approaches* An opportunity to enable the team to work efficiently toward their goals (e.g., assisting your Engineering Manager with prioritising work, identifying dependencies, interpreting team retro feedback, caring about the team's documentation)**The skills you will bring:*** Ideally, 6+ years of back-end development experience.* You have experience developing web-based applications at the enterprise level* Problem solving is a strength of yours. You bring the ability to interpret data and business strategy, understanding constraints and trade-offs.* You have experience in mentoring other team members about best practices, latest updates and version, and fostering consistent coding styles and guidelines* You have helped introduce new dev/test/automation frameworks, languages, tools and have drove adoption where suitable* Experience of Java or Python RESTful as an API design* Experience with AWS and Cloud-first applications is a plus.* Experience with React or other Front-end frameworks is advantageous.**Achievements:*** You have lead system level designs that serve as definitive examples for other engineers (transferred from the skills you will bring)* You have proven to be capable in delivering quality solutions in a fast-moving business environment* You have collaborated openly on shared items of work and communicated well in a team-oriented environment across locations.* You have demonstrated a growth mindset with a continuous focus on improving yourself and the way work gets done within your sphere of influence.## **The Company:***At Workhuman our missi**on is to bring more humanity to the workplace.
