24 Months, Fixed Term Full-Time Post Position Summary Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research position at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, to conduct research on the development of explainable work rotas using constraint programming and other AI technologies. Prior experience in developing software solutions to scheduling problems incorporating AI-based optimisation technology is essential. The main focus of this position will be on developing AI and optimisation tools to support interactive explainable and fair work schedules, including support for inferring new tasks and matching people to those tasks. A secondary focus will be on tools supporting staff in sustainable transport solutions. The position will be part of the Horizon Europe project SEISMEC, which designs, deploys and evaluates human-centric technology in workplaces. The work will involve collaboration with team members in UCC, with specific partners in Europe who will deploy the technology, and with other consortium partners who are developing other aspects of human centric ICT. Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI's. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association Project Title: Explainable Work Rotas.
