We're seeking a passionate and skilled Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to cover a maternity leave, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a busy and supportive practice in the heart of the Irish midlands.

About the Role:

This full-time, temporary position offers a diverse caseload, split approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animal.

- Small Animal:Engage in general first opinion practice, including routine surgeries (spays, castrations, lump removals, etc.), diagnostics, and emergency care.
- Large Animal:Conduct farm calls, with a focus on calving and sections.No TB testing required.

Salary:Up to 60,000 commensurate with experience.

Schedule:Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. OOH is shared on a rota basis: 1 night per week and 1 in 4 weekends.

Located just 45 minutes from Dublin, Mullingar offers a vibrant lifestyle with excellent access to public transport. Enjoy a wide range of activities, from sports clubs and water sports on the canal to a thriving social scene with numerous cafes, restaurants, and pubs.

The team consists of 4 full-time Vets, 2 part-time Vets, 4 Veterinary Nurses, and 3 support staff. They pride ourselves on our collaborative and supportive work environment, where every team member is valued.

Applicant Requirements:

- Registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) and eligible to work in Ireland.
- Competent in basic routine small animal surgeries (spays, castrations, lump removals, etc.).
- Competent in large animal calving and sections.
- All experience levels considered.
