About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and thoughtful Engineering Manager to join our Data Cloud team based in Dublin. This is a hybrid role, with time in the office as part of our flexible working policy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You will lead a group of skilled engineers who are reimagining our data delivery platform to support scale, accuracy, and speed. The platform is built using AWS Redshift, S3, and Python, and is designed to handle billions of records while transforming raw data into API-ready formats.

You’ll help shape our platform and team culture—supporting others to grow, building robust systems, and driving improvements in our ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support a geographically distributed engineering team

- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects using agile practices

- Provide technical leadership, particularly in AWS, Python, and data system design

- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology with business needs

- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and team performance

- Communicate clearly on project progress, risks, and solutions

- Help manage budgets and ensure resources are used effectively

- Promote a positive, inclusive team culture

Skills & Experience

We value skills and experience gained in a range of ways—including employment, self-study, freelance, or volunteering.

Essential

- Experience leading or managing engineering teams

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Technical expertise in AWS, Python, and data-intensive systems

- Comfortable with agile methodologies and iterative delivery

- Ability to support, guide, and develop engineers at different levels

- Experience with system design and scalable infrastructure

- Ability to share knowledge and document clearly

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving approach

Desirable

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)

- Experience working with data lake tools (e.g. Glue, Athena, Redshift)

- Understanding of API design and performance considerations

- Prior work in cloud-native, fast-evolving environments

Accessibility & Adjustments

We are committed to making our hiring process as inclusive and accessible as possible. We’re happy to make adjustments at any stage to support your needs—please let us know what works best for you.

Examples include:

- Additional processing time or questions in writing

- Screen reader‑friendly documents

- Flexible interview formats (e.g. video off, use of captions, written responses)

- Clear expectations ahead of each stage

We Welcome All

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. If we can offer this job description or any part of the application process in a different format, please let us know.

Benefits

- Competitive salary (we recommend including a band to support pay transparency)

- Company laptop

- Bonus scheme

- 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

- Hybrid working model

- Healthcare and company pension

- Cycle to Work scheme and wellbeing support

- Global team gatherings and events

- E-learning and structured career development
