THE ROLE

KKR is looking to add a talented Principal Engineer to make an impact in the Risk & Performance Engineering team, part of the wider Technology team. Our agile team is responsible for delivering solutions to aid in managing und understanding risk & performance drivers in our investment strategy, portfolio management and operations, providing differentiated outcomes to internal and external clients. You/'ll work on a cloud-native tech stack of micro services leveraging Kubernetes and modern approaches to CI/CD. We primarily use React on the frontend as well as Python on the backend. As a Principal Engineer, you will help drive our Risk platform forward and help further the standard for engineering excellence not only on the team but across the entire organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Write and review code, and deploy systemsthat facilitate our business
- Collaborate closely with business, product and engineering stakeholders
- Inspire excellence through strong leadership and coaching/ mentorship
- Own application design and architecture reviews for your area
- Facilitate an agile, iterative software development process
- Break down complex problems into simple, creative, and effective solutions
- Build solutions for high availability, observability, and maintainability
- Provide support for all aspects of the part of the platform you own

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- At least 4 years of experience with cloud-based service-oriented architecture and web services.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (Engineering/Mathematics/Computer Science)
- Advanced knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (such as python) with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data applications
- Strong background in databases and data pipelines
- Exposure to web programming and related frameworks (e.g. HTML, JS, React); full stack experience a strong plus
- Experience in designing, delivering, and securing data-rich web applications
- Empowers team and flexes style to lead and support both novice and experienced engineers.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with business stakeholders.
- Acts as a change agent. Achieves buy-in and support at the wider organizational level for initiatives they own.
- Interest in finance, hard-working and eager to learn in a fast-paced, innovative commercial environment
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated curiosity, analytical skills, and resourcefulness with a proven record of ownership and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
