The Data Quality Analyst role will work within the UnitedHealthcare STARS & Quality team and be responsible for development of world-class data quality, data analysis, and test automation within a continuous delivery lifecycle. You will be accountable for ensuring the proper Quality Assurance controls are adhered to for inbound data, internal analytics and outbound results to customers while ensuring operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities of the Data Quality Analyst:

1. Create and execute test cases within an ETL, data warehouse, and reporting application environment.
2. Responsible for data profiling and system integration testing of ETL, batch processes, reporting deliverables, and user interface applications with an emphasis on data quality.
3. Understand and create SQL queries with the ability to troubleshoot issues found in stored procedures and/or customer data. Perform exploratory analysis and queries to identify issues that are not covered by automation.
4. Support implementation of software, tools and capabilities to automate system integration testing and continuous delivery / DevOps agenda in a Data Warehouse environment.
5. Generate and maintain quality metric reports. Analyze and optimize QA business processes. Monitor and report quality metrics for the UHC STARS & Quality team.
6. Collaborate and communicate effectively across teams throughout the QA lifecycle. Share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to staff, business sponsors, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience.
7. Use database statistics and data trending to compare data between deliveries to identify issues.

Required Qualifications of the Data Quality Analyst:

1. Technical undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification
2. Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Data Quality role within a data warehouse environment
3. Strong SQL experience, including experience with various database technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server)
4. Proven experience working with one or more of the following database technologies: Snowflake, Cloud-Database Environment, MS-SQL Server, Teradata, Hadoop

Preferred Qualifications of the Data Quality Analyst:

1. Experience developing or testing Business Intelligence reporting within Tableau or Power BI
2. Knowledge of HEDIS and Star Quality Specifications
3. Knowledge of DevOps tools, including Rally & Git
4. Experience with Agile methodology
5. Programming experience e.g. Python
