Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead to join our Public Sector & Utilities Practice. This role offers medium and long‑term career growth and provides the chance to work on large‑scale, transformational and migration projects across both public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain cloud‑native software applications.

Provide technical leadership within a team, coordinating delivery of scalable and secure solutions in line with industry software engineering best practices (code quality, CI/CD, security, etc.).

Work within a project‑management / agile delivery methodology.

Own a product or software solution, covering design, estimation, shaping and user‑story / requirement creation.

Document solutions (e.g., architecture, configuration, release and support hand‑over).

Collaborate with Version 1 and customer stakeholders (PMs, BAs, Testing, Product, etc.) throughout the software development lifecycle.

Communicate technical designs clearly in conversations, documentation and presentations to stakeholders of varying technical ability.

Provide effective knowledge transfer to team members and customers.

Manage, coach and develop junior team members and contribute to the wider community.

Foster a positive working environment and facilitate team collaboration and communication.

Qualifications

Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns, including microservices and message‑driven architectures.

Experience with non‑functional requirements and developing applications with performance, resilience and security in mind.

Application / Digital Services design experience.

Hands‑on experience with software engineering practices such as code reviews, CI/CI pipelines.

Proficiency in technologies including:

Front‑end: JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React or Node.

Back‑end: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate.

Databases: Oracle.

Experience with estimation and sizing.

Integration experience.

API design experience.

RedHat OpenShift experience.
