Our partner, Tool and Gauge in Tubbercurry, is hiring an experienced Toolmaker – Plastic Injection Moulds. In this role, you will play a key part in the manufacturing process by using your expertise in mould fitting, assembly, and polishing to create world-class injection moulds. Tool and Gauge specialises in injection mould manufacture, precision engineering, and innovative product design and is one of Ireland’s premier mould manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform fitting, assembly, surface grinding, metrology, and polishing of mould components.
2. Read and interpret 2D mould drawings and 3D mould models accurately.
3. Work with hot runner feed systems, including valve gate systems.
4. Plan and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
5. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.

Requirements:

1. Fully qualified Toolmaker with 5 to 7 years of experience post-apprenticeship.
2. Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D mould drawings/models.
3. Proven experience with hot runner feed systems, including valve gates.
4. Expertise in surface grinding, fitting, assembly, metrology, and polishing.
5. Excellent planning and time management skills.
6. Experience with CNC machining and CNC EDM equipment.
7. Background in medical device tooling and/or polymer processing.
