Overview Senior Azure Data Architect & Performance Engineer – Dublin (Contract or Permanent | Hybrid)
A leading global financial technology organisation is seeking a Senior Azure Data Architect & Performance Engineer to join its Dublin team.
In this role, you’ll work on large-scale SQL Server and Azure environments, driving database performance, scalability, and reliability. Beyond technical skills, we’re looking for someone who understands database design paradigms such as Sharding, CQRS, Saga Transactional Pattern, and Time-Series Patterns — not just the latest tools.
What you’ll do Optimise SQL Server (2017/2019/2022) and Azure SQL (VM, IaaS, Managed Instance).
Lead query tuning, rewriting, and architectural improvements.
Automate with T-SQL & PowerShell, support Oracle-to-SQL migrations.
Apply design best practices to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
Use performance tools like Query Store, Extended Events, and SolarWinds.
What we’re looking for Deep SQL Server and Azure expertise, with strong knowledge of database internals.
Solid understanding of DB design patterns and paradigms .
Experience with Oracle migrations, Snowflake, and automation.
Strong communicator, problem solver, and collaborator.
This is a high-impact role in a global financial environment with hybrid working in Dublin , available on both contract and permanent basis.
