About the Role
Evolve Graduate Programme – Mechanical Engineer

Ethos Engineering is excited to welcome graduates to our Evolve Graduate Programme . As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Engineering Studio — a collaborative pool of engineers designed to give you hands-on experience across multiple departments and projects. Through rotations across groups , you will broaden your technical expertise, gain exposure to multidisciplinary building services, and be supported by both a mentor and a buddy.

Over an 18-month structured journey , you will complete technical, professional, and leadership training modules while contributing to live client projects. This programme is designed to accelerate your development and set you on a clear path toward professional chartership and a rewarding career in building services.

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong academic performance in relevant mechanical engineering coursework.

Must be based in Ireland and able to attend our Dublin office at least three (3) days per week under our hybrid model.

Previous placement, internship, or project experience in building services is beneficial but not required.

Candidate Attributes

Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit MEP (exposure to BIM modelling is advantageous).

Knowledge of HVAC system design, thermal load calculations, and fluid dynamics.

Awareness of CIBSE, ASHRAE, and Irish building regulations.

Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design.

Proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Eagerness to learn, adapt, and embrace new technologies and engineering tools.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with senior engineers to design and analyse mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Rotate across groups within the Engineering Studio to gain multidisciplinary project exposure.

Develop expertise in mechanical engineering principles and apply them to real-world challenges.

Prepare detailed technical drawings, reports, and project documentation.

Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS, and EN standards.

Gain field exposure through site visits, inspections, and troubleshooting activities.

Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building services solutions.

Key Activities

Engage in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for building projects.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across diverse projects.

Conduct technical research to support engineering decision-making.

Attend structured training sessions, workshops, and CPDs.

Participate in project meetings and client interactions.

Visit project sites to gain practical exposure to inspections, installations, and commissioning.

Contribute to sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical solutions.
