Purpose of the Role Clinical Duties Nutritional assessment and dietetic intervention for patients referred from the General Paediatrics and speciality areas. Provision of Nutrition and Dietetics services to other clinical areas/specialities supported by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, when required. Liaise with Consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary team, formula room and catering staff regarding the co-ordination of dietetic intervention. Attend and participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to promote integrated patient care. Consult with parents/guardians/clients regarding treatment, planning and nutrition education as appropriate. Monitor and evaluate dietetic care plans and interventions. Participate in the development of clinical protocols and guidelines that are reflective of evidence based practice. Education, training and development in the specific clinical area and act as a resource for other members of staff and other health professionals. Essential Criteria: Candidates must: Be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU. Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU before a contact of employment can be issued.
