Principal Windows Application Developer

We are proud to be launching a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM's global Product and Technology organization.

SiriusXM's new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM's streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.

Summary:

The successful candidate will oversee the technical direction of a software development team responsible for new software products that assist our customers in integrating SXM technology, software, products, and tools into customer systems and designs. Additional responsibilities include overseeing software development and support for software architectures, analysis of alternate implementations/techniques, design, implementation, documentation, and assisting our customers in integrating our technology into their systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Contribute and oversee a team that designs, develops, tests, and documents software used to develop, prototype, and validate SXM satellite, streaming, and UI/UX technology.
2. Support the full software development lifecycle from initial requirements definition through software release and end-user support.
3. Perform analysis of software requirements, deriving solution approaches, software architectures, and designs to meet end-user needs.
4. Work with customers on integration of our technology into their systems.
5. Participate in software design and review sessions with the software team and other stakeholders.
6. Perform detailed design, write software, and test/validate the software, ensuring software deliverables meet functional and quality requirements.
7. Author software application notes and documentation to accompany software deliverables.
8. Assist in supporting internal end-users of the software deliverables.
9. Provide regular and accurate reports to the Leadership of Automotive Software.
10. Perform special projects, concept prototyping, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary.
11. Understand all aspects of the software development lifecycle and align the development process to enable data analytics to quantify and provide insight into process improvements.
12. Understand the features integrated into our software products from several SiriusXM brands, including Pandora, Stitcher, Connected Vehicle, and AdsWiz.
13. Utilize best practices in implementing software deliverables.

Requirements:

1. BSc/MSc Engineering, Engineering Management, or equivalent experience.
2. 10+ years of expertise in software programs, involving embedded, real-time software for automotive and consumer electronic products.
3. 5+ years of experience in software development process improvement initiatives.
4. PMP Certification is a plus.
5. Experience with Agile methodology including Kanban.
6. Proficiency in both C# and C++ (14/17+).
7. Excellent algorithmic and object-oriented design skills.
8. UI development experience of Windows or web applications.
9. Solid knowledge of Windows internals (threads/events/messages/timers/FS/multimedia/etc.).
10. Hands-on experience with Visual Studio, Git, Jira, CI/CD.
11. Experience in at least one of the following areas: system applications/services development, full-stack development, driver development, protocol stack development, and mobile application development.

Would be an asset:

1. Experience with automotive applications.
2. Experience with audio or video encoders/decoders.
3. Experience with cross-compilation and embedded systems.
4. Experience with network protocols and radio transmission systems.
