Overview QC Testing Electrician role at CJK. Apply to join the team responsible for electrical testing, quality control and commissioning activities on projects.
Responsibilities Implement and manage Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) and Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) on projects where they are the AP (Appointed Person).
Carry out Pre-Test Inspections (walk-down of field installations) on site and compile defect reports on compliance with national electrical regulations.
Notify Project Manager and QC lead of any non-conformances or hazards on site.
Carry out testing of Low Voltage (LV) installations as required by national governing bodies (e.g., Safe Electric); issue reports and snag lists.
Compile reports and issue ‘As Built’ Test Certificates.
Verify Redlined Drawings for the LV installation being tested and update cable schedules for changes.
Create Distribution Board / Panel Charts schedules for inclusion in the O&M Manual.
Complete Test Record Sheets in accordance with international standards (IEC, EN, IS, etc.).
Manage and implement Electrical Safe System of Work on site (if acting as AP).
Carry out periodic inspections and surveys of installations.
Inspect and test Main and Sub-Main Distribution Boards and transformer offloading cabling, final sub-circuits (including functional checks), earthing & bonding testing, control circuits, and set discrimination settings into protective devices (as provided by the Design Consultant).
Assist close-out of project issues, investigations and queries; ensure safety measures for meters and PPE (e.g., Arc Flash protection, ATEX, signage/labeling).
Issue Final Safe Electric, ATEX and Commissioning Certification for projects; maintain LOTO measures on projects.
Qualifications Electrical Trade Background and/or a third-level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (preferred).
City & Guilds 2407 – Electrical Testing and Verification of Electrical Installations (Ireland) trained and qualified.
LOTO and COHE trained.
Adhere to LV switchgear switching protocols (ACBs, MCCBs, etc.).
Technical knowledge and experience of LV systems and regulatory requirements.
Ability to read detailed electrical drawings and cable schedules; ability to fault-find/diagnose issues on installations while testing.
Desirable CompEx E01-06 qualified for ATEX environments (preferable).
Authorized Person (AP) competent and trained (preferable).
Good knowledge of I&C installations.
Data Centre experience/knowledge.
