Counsellors are to join Cpl Healthcare in the delivery of counselling services to children on a sessional basis in Cavan, Laois, Leitrim, Monaghan, Tipperary, Mayo, and Longford.

Counsellors will provide blocks of eight counselling sessions per referral.

Overview of duties:

- Counsellors will be required to adhere to the Code of Ethics of their relevant accrediting body.
- Counsellors will be required to attend professional supervision while providing counselling as part of this programme.
- Ensure consent and referral form is complete and signed by parents.
- Complete initial assessment to gather information as appropriate.
- Complete and issue a summary report summarising interventions and strategies.
- All interactions are to be carried out in a professional manner.
- Engage in robust data protection to ensure sensitive information on the referred child is always kept confidential and safe.
- Engage in quality assurance exercises and support the evaluation process on the programme as required.

Requirements:

- Hold a recognised qualification at Level 7 (primary degree) or higher in a relevant human science as well as an accredited qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.
- This qualification must be recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland; or the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy; or the Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy; or one of the ten accrediting psychotherapy bodies within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP); or the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP); or the Irish Association of Psychotherapy and Play Therapy (IAPTP); or the Association of Child Art Psychotherapists (ACAP).

AND

- 2 years relevant supervised experience providing counselling for children.

OR

- Hold a professional accredited qualification in the area of child and adolescent counselling and 1 year supervised experience providing counselling for children.
- Complete introduction to Children's First e-learning programme.
- Hold valid professional indemnity insurance.
- Operate as a limited company.
